The Medical Library is excited to announce the launch of the new quarterly Clinical Innovation Series. This series will serve as a forum for exploring how evidence-based medicine translates from innovative research into state-of-the-art patient care at SMHCS.
Please join us in person for our inaugural event which will feature an open panel discussion on: Robotic Surgery – featuring the da Vinci Surgical System.
The discussion will be led by Dr. John Nora with our own SMHCS’s expert panel including:

Dr. John Nora, MD, FACS - Moderator and Panelist
Dr. John Nora is a board-certified general surgeon with the First Physicians Group at Sarasota Memorial Health Care System (SMH), where he previously served as chief of general and vascular surgery. A pioneer in the field, Dr. Nora is highly experienced in da Vinci robot-assisted surgery. He has performed over 1,500 da Vinci robot-assisted surgeries. Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Nora is a dedicated educator, actively training other surgeons in these cutting-edge techniques. His commitment to innovation has significantly improved patient outcomes in bariatric, colon, and hernia procedures.

Dr. Blair Marshall, MD - Panelist
